San Francisco

Tyler's parents watched Madison while we went to San Francisco during Tyler's spring break.  We got there just in time for the Easter festivities and Madison was able to dye some eggs.

Madison did really well with Christian while we were gone.  Maybe its because he looks so much like Tyler.

These pictures below are the Palace of Fine Arts.  It was originally built for the World Fair in 1915 and is one of the few remaining structures from that fair.  It isn't all original, however, because it did have to be rebuilt in 1965 out of a sturdier material to make it last.

Tyler and Tiffani Mix took work and school off to spend a few days with us as we toured "the city".

This museum had free entrance on the first Tuesday of every month, and since we happened to be there on just such a Tuesday, we went in.  This is the original Thinker statue.  They also had a few original Manet paintings.

Since Tyler enjoys woodworking so much, I have really wanted to be able to show him some redwoods.  On this trip we were finally able to see those.  We went to Muir woods.  We didn't have our camera with us, so the picture below is just from a google image search, but it is accurate.  The trees really do look like that.  Tyler loved the majesty of it all.  I think he could have spent all day and more walking through those woods.

You can't tell, but the clouds were super cool on the drive back.

We got Madison a tea set in China town for the tea parties that she so dearly loves.  Nothing gets her more excited than rolling out a blanket, pulling out the tea set and pouring water or juice for everyone.

Tanger Outlets

We went to Park City's Tanger Outlets looking for some shoes for Tyler.  They has some party thing going on for the county in the parking lot.  Madison received a fire truck hat, balloon and had her face painted.  I'm not sure what she thought of the face painting.  Then we picked up some free food--hot dogs (I passed on that), sun chips, chocolate chip cookies, and water.  That was a nice surprise to our trip.

First Crush

Tyler and I decided to make tomato soup from scratch.  Tyler peeled all the tomatoes.  It was pretty good, but next time we are going to go lighter on the basil and spices.

She loves to paint.

My first 5K.  Tyler wanted to run a 5K with me, but I was less than excited since I wasn't sure if I would have morning sickness or not.  Provo's Rex Lee run goes to cancer research.  I invited my sister a month before the run and then Tyler and I forgot all about it.  Kendra asked the day before if we were still planning on running, which we weren't planning on anything at that point.  Knowing Kendra wanted to run it we signed up.  The weather was nice and Madison was a good sport the whole time.  Mainly Tyler pushed the stroller.  At the end of the race, Tyler gave the stroller to Kendra (I was a few feet behind) and a bunch of people started cheering thinking Kendra was the mother/wife.  Tyler and Kendra said they could have kept going, but I was done and ready to eat my bagels and fruit BYU was serving.  It was a fun time, but I sure was wiped out by the time we got home from Provo that night.

Licking the rice krispies off the wooden spoon.

I babysat the kid of one of the sisters I visit teach in the ward.  Madison had an instant crush on Carter and they played well the whole afternoon.

Painting a stick they found in the back yard.

Time for a break.  When putting Madison down for a nap she told me she wanted a kiss from Carter.  I laughed and said "no".  Then she responded with, "only daddy".

The perfect biscuit.

Hogel Zoo

Hogel Zoo offered a free admissions day back in Feb/March.  I decided to take Madison knowing how much she likes animals.  We almost didn't make it when she refused to get dressed in the morning.

She really wanted to push her stroller...and see the giraffes.

Madison's New Haircut

Nothing good comes from leaving Madison alone.  We had some friends over and Madison decided to go for a trendier look.  We aren't doing anything about her haircut for 6-8 months.  Maybe then we will give her a bob.

The Tricycle

Some people in the ward gave Madison this tricycle last fall when we went and borrowed a rake.  Madison has been practicing and getting really good at riding it.
